THE MOBILE LABORATORY AND ITS ‚BOMB SQUAD’ IS BACK ON THE ROAD!

24-04-2017

A traveling lab reveals the secrets of chemistry and the fun side of this otherwise complicated science.

With the generous sponsorship of Prista Oil Holding and the support of the Sofia University and the Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy, a long tour of the mobile laboratory started in  Northern Bulgaria with visits to 11 schools.

The Laboratory is part of Chemgeneration Chemistry Education Initiative launched in Bulgaria in 2011. Today, the main partner and sponsor of the project is Prista Oil, thanks to which the laboratory can present to the students the wonderful world of science in an non-standard way. The traveling lad is an initiative striving to stimulate the education in chemistry in Bulgaria. Among the key goals is an influential and fun way of raising young people's interest in science and showing the role of chemistry in today's world.

Enthusiasm, curiosity and diligence are the drivers of students who are impressed not only by the effects of the experiments but also by their names - "traffic light", "elephant foam" and others. In this way, students understand the oxidative-reduction processes, the thermal effect of chemical reactions, and this motivates them to get interested in chemistry.

The first meeting was in Knezha, followed by Veliko Tarnovo, Plachkovci, Gabrovo and Tryavna. On April 21, two gatherings took place in Silistra, and on April 22 the Squad visited Varna.

On Tuesday, the tour of the Bomb Squad continues in Varna, then in Razgrad and Rousse.
