ANNOUNCEMENT

Dear Partners,

In connection with the implementation of Regulation (EU) 2018/589, which entered into force on 18 April 2018 to amend Annex XVII of the European Parliament and the Council  concerning Regulation (EC) 1907/2006 (REACH), a restriction on products containing methanol is introduced.

In Annex XVII to Regulation (EC) 1907/2006 (REACH) is added new entry with Article 69, which prohibits  placing on the market to the general public after 9 May 2019 wind- screenwash or defrosting fluids, containing methanol  in a concentration equal to or greater than 0,6% by weight.

PRISTA® products which have same application are: PRISTA Winter Screen Wash Fluid Super Concentrate; PRISTA Winter Screen Wash Fluid Concentrate; PRISTA Winter Screen Wash Fluid -20; PRISTA Summer Screen Wash Fluid Concentrate 1:3; PRISTA Summer Screen Wash Fluid.

The above-mentioned products do not contain methanol, which is evident from the provided Safety Data Sheets.

Because of these amendments, please be aware from the following deadlines for applying the restriction:

1. The already produced quantities of wind- screen wash automotive fluids, containing methanol at a concentration equal to or greater than 0,6% by weight prior to the entry into force of the restriction, can be placed on the market until 9 May 2019.

2. After the expiry of the period referred in paragraph 1, the available quantities of wind- screen wash automotive fluids, must be effectively withdrawn from the market.
